Walt Disney World stands out as one of the most beloved theme parks in America—and many would argue it’s the most renowned in the entire world! It’s a place where families and friends create unforgettable memories, all tied together by the enchanting magic of Mickey Mouse. I know this all too well, as it holds a special place in my heart!

Disneyland in California opened its gates way back in 1955, setting a new standard for amusement parks. Then, in 1971, the wonders of Walt Disney World burst onto the scene in Florida, captivating guests with its charm and innovation. While Disneyland might be the original, I believe Disney World easily surpasses it in popularity. In the 90s, when I was growing up, this magic really took off, and it’s precisely why I proudly identify as a DISNEY ADULT! ✨

One of my fondest Disney memories takes me back to when I was around 10 years old. My family embarked on an unforgettable RV adventure to Disney World, where we camped at the enchanting Fort Wilderness Campground nestled right on the property. We explored all four parks—Epcot, MGM Studios (the name it went by back then), Animal Kingdom (which I believe had just opened its gates!), and the iconic Magic Kingdom. It was nothing short of magical!

Though much of that trip is a blur, fast forward 35 years, and I've transformed into a passionate Disney Adult, visiting regularly to relive that wonder. The 90s were an extraordinary time for Disney, filled with cinematic gems that truly defined a generation. We witnessed the golden age known as the "renaissance era," giving us unforgettable classics like Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, The Little Mermaid, and The Lion King, just to name a few. Those movies not only filled our hearts but also ignited my lifelong love for all things Disney.
There was a time in my life when Disney didn’t occupy the forefront of my thoughts. College and the early years of my career had me really focused elsewhere. But now, with a steady job and the means to truly indulge, my appreciation for Disney has blossomed into something incredibly special. Yes, I proudly embrace the title of "Disney Adult"!
There came a turning point when I found myself yearning for the magic and simplicity that Disney encapsulates. As a Social Worker, my job can be incredibly demanding and often leads to burnout. While I wouldn’t trade my career for anything, it's clear that my frequent trips to the most magical place on Earth offer a much-needed escape from daily stress. The joy and wonder of Disney rejuvenate me and remind me of the lightness and happiness we often crave in our busy lives.
I often get asked, "Does your husband love Disney as much as you do?" I can't help but chuckle at this. The truth is, not really! And you know what? That’s perfectly fine! (More on who I travel with later) While he might not scream Disney fanatic like me, he definitely supports my passion for the magic. Will he join me on a Disney getaway? No… but he always says, “Happy wife, happy life! So go” I like to think of it like his hunting adventures in the fall. Honestly, there’s no way I’d enjoy sitting in a tree stand for hours waiting for that elusive 30-point buck—so I get that Disney parks aren’t his cup of tea either.

So, who do I explore the wonders of Disney World with? While my sister and niece join me now and then, my absolute favorite travel buddies are my two friends named Liz! Yes, it’s a double Liz affair! Their enthusiasm for all things Disney is infectious, and they bring the perfect balance to my sometimes overwhelming travel anxiety (I’ll save that for another blog—let’s just say I enjoy arriving at the airport a solid four hours early, haha!).
What I love most about our trips is the blend of adventure and personal time. We explore the parks together but also respect each other’s need for solo moments. It’s such a blast sharing TikToks about the latest Disney news, snack discoveries, and our travel plans! Those moments really add to the joy of our Disney escapades!

What’s next on my Disney adventure agenda? I’m thrilled to announce that I’m heading on a Disney Cruise! And not just any cruise—this is a "Very Merrytime Cruise," where everything is decked out for the holiday season! To top it all off, we’ll be sailing the week of Christmas, meaning I’ll be sharing some magical moments with the Mouse himself on Christmas Day!
This is my first Disney Cruise, and while excitement is bubbling up inside me, I can’t help but feel a bit nervous too. After all, I’m stepping into uncharted waters (pun intended), and I’ve got Matt joining me on this journey, which adds a little extra flutter to my stomach. I’ve heard that a Disney Cruise is worlds apart from a day at the parks—more laid-back and blissfully free of the usual hustle and bustle.
For the past six months, I’ve been in full-on planning mode (if you caught my blog about the Southwest Circle trip, you know how thorough my planning gets!). I’ve even kicked off plans for my Mickey Ears for the week. You heard that right—I make my own! Naturally, I need a different, holiday-themed pair for each day of the cruise. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience filled with joy and magic.

Plus, a possible trip to Walt Disney World might just be on the agenda for 2025! It's shaping up to be an incredible journey ahead!
